What to expect

What can we expect to see from Bowman Cycles in the future?
Its a fair question and one we are happy to expand on. The whole reason Bowman was set up was to build bikes we want to ride, and riders like us have told us they want to ride. Affordable, great riding bikes, fit for purpose.
Our first bike will be a road frame. Aimed at the performance oriented cyclist but one that you can still ride all day without coming away from the experience battered to death. With modern manufacturing, the stiffness requirements are relatively straightforward to achieve. Not just in terms of power transfer, but also in relation to handling. Making sure the bike tracks your chosen line is down to chassis alignment and balancing the stiffness required to meet this goal with a compliant enough ride that the bike doesn’t get bounced off line by imperfect road surfaces. The other side of the story is geometry. The angles and tube lengths that control the balance and feel of the machine in motion. When paired, stiffness and geometry are what allows you to feel as if you are in, rather than on a bike once the tarmac gets twisty. This connection with the road, and the smile it can bring to the rider are the primary goals in the design process for Bowman Cycles - whatever the frames intended terrain.
Once our road frame is perfected, energies will be focused on the next frames. We’ve plans for a variety of products and in no particular order, they will include: cross bikes, track bikes and a serious winter bike. No doubt we will dabble with disc brakes too as the technology develops and regular riders begin to embrace the developments. We are all cyclists here, rather than specific genre riders, and there is no reason that at some point in the future we wont design mountain bikes too, but for now we’ve got enough ongoing projects to keep us going.
We’d also love to here from you about products you’d like to see. If there is anything you want to let us know about, please do get in touch. It could be via email - info@bowman-cycles.com - or via our social media accounts. There are links on the website to our Twitter, Facebook and even Instagram if theres some imagery you’d like us to see.
Thanks for reading, and do stay in touch.
