At Bowman, we all love cycling. Simply put, we want to share that passion with as many people as we can. Not just as a bike company but also as a group of cyclists who want more people on bikes - of every type and in all the places.

As well as producing the best bikes we can, for as wide a range of uses as we're able at the time, the team at Bowman also wants to play its part in increasing accessibility to our great transport option, pastime and sport.

Bowman always has, and always will celebrates diversity. For everyone here, it's a fundamental belief that a staff compromising of people with the widest possible variety of experiences and backgrounds is fundamental to the continued growth of not just us as a company but, also to the great activity we're actively trying to promote.

When we moved into our new space this year, a key element in our plan was to develop somewhere people could spend time. This is not simply so we can have a lovely place to come visit Bowman and check out the latest bikes and frames, or set up a demo ride, but also so we can open up cycling.

A strong driver for us here at Bowman is the wish to open up cycling to people who may previously have found it difficult to engage with, or who may have had some issues or tensions in their previous interactions.

Bowman HQ is open and available for each and every cycling community to use if they have similar goals, that is - growing the whole cake.

We're here to support and provide a metaphorical and physical safe space to help you grow your cycling group or project.

Bowman is proud to have signed up to the

RAR Cycling Industry Pledge.

Our safe space program is the first publicly visible action we've announced since signing up to the 2021 Pledge and is a continuation of our firm belief that a diverse culture makes for a far better world.

As part of our responsibilities, Bowman has pledged to do everything within it power to:

1. Practice upholding the RAR Guiding Principles;

2. Advocate to hire a diverse workforce and executive leadership.

3. Visibly engage in supporting broadly representative cycling teams, events, athletes, and ambassador

4. Share the Pledge with other companies in the cycling industry.

We started on the northern edge of 127 hectares of open, wild heathland. On this heath, in 1785, the Society of Royal Kentish Bowmen made their home at a building that became known as Bowmans Lodge. Presided over by the Prince of Wales, who went on to reign as George IV, this first archery society with royal approval since the Norman conquests became very popular. Subsequently, the surrounding locale became known as Bowmans, with buildings, roads, farms and quarries bearing the name over the next 250 years. Bowman Cycles is just the latest in a long line of endeavours to pay homage to the area’s history.
